SVP of Business Development
Born and raised in San Diego, California. Graduated with honors from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas with a double major in Marketing and Real Estate Finance.
From my coursework, I knew I wanted to be in finance and real estate. That focus has driven my entire career.
Through brokering loans to Spreo Capital, I got to know their process and products firsthand. That's when I met Dan and Jerry, the founding partners. Now I originate loans and manage the broker channel—overseeing everything related to revenue and growth.
Main focus: recruiting established loan officers with their own book of business and relationships in urban infill markets like Dallas, Denver, Portland, Boston, and Nashville—markets where values are stable and continuously growing.
With deep knowledge in expanding companies, I was approached by a local brokerage owner who made me a partner in San Diego. The focus was on non-QM and private money—serving investor clients, builders, and developers.
Handled everything: sales, marketing, structuring, shopping, pre-underwriting, and managing LOAs and processors. This is where I truly learned the private lending space inside and out.
Started under Sean Cahan, a $100M+ producer and president of Cornerstone Mortgage (now Cornerstone First Mortgage). Worked my way up from LOA to Senior Vice President, second-in-command of the company.
Focused on bank expansion with a team of over 25 people. Grew the sales support, onboarding training, marketing, and recruiting departments. Together with Sean, grew the company to over 350 loan officers across 40-60 branches by September 2023.
FHA, VA, Conventional, Bank Statement, P&L, and DSCR loans. Deep experience with direct correspondent lending.
In-depth knowledge of private money lending, commercial loans, and structuring deals for investors, builders, and developers.
Proven track record in scaling lending operations, recruiting top talent, and building high-performing teams.
Sales, marketing, structuring, shopping, pre-underwriting, and team management. I've worn all hats in real estate lending.
"I've pretty much seen all sides of the real estate lending space. I've worn all hats, and that perspective drives everything I do today."
